Think in records, not giant documents

Name the things your app remembers

A course has lessons. A customer has orders. A task has an owner. Start by listing the real things that need an identity, a lifecycle, and their own permissions. These are often better modeled as separate kinds of records.

Keep relationships explicit

Connect a lesson to its course with a stable identifier. Do not copy the whole course into every lesson. Avoid storing growing collections of unrelated records inside one large field: they become difficult to query, update, and protect.

Ask the server for the right result

Request one page of a list rather than every record. Filter where the data lives. Ask for a count when you need a count, not a collection to count yourself. Keep large files in file storage and save only the reference in the record.

Put the idea into practice

Choose one small workflow in your project. Write down what happens today and the single change that would make it clearer or more reliable. Describe what should stay unchanged, then work through the result from a visitor’s point of view.

Keep your acceptance criteria specific. A phrase such as “make it professional” is hard to verify. A sentence such as “after saving, the new task appears in the list and remains after a refresh” gives you a concrete outcome to evaluate.
